About
The Retreat
At The Retreat Reflexology, everything begins with the simple belief that your body deserves a place to rest — truly rest — in a world that constantly asks you to push, carry, and cope.
Hidden in the quiet countryside, The Retreat is a soft space designed to feel like an exhale. A place where the noise of life melts away, and where you can reconnect with yourself without pressure or expectation.

About ME
‘I know what it feels like to constantly hold it together’
Reflexology gave me back a sense of balance and ease, and it felt natural to train professionally so I could offer that same feeling to others.
Hi! I’m Joanne, the owner of The Retreat Reflexology. I was drawn to reflexology because I know how heavy life can feel when you’re constantly holding everything together. I’ve been that person too — stretched, tired, and craving somewhere calm to land. The Retreat is my way of giving people a place to breathe… a warm, peaceful environment where your nervous system can settle, your shoulders can drop, and you can reconnect with yourself without pressure or expectation.
My approach is gentle and intuitive.
Everything I do is centred around creating a space where you don’t have to explain or perform — you can simply arrive as you are. Every treatment is guided by how you’re feeling that day, what your body is asking for, and the pace that feels right for you.

Will it work for me?
How does Reflexology Help Me Feel Better?
Reflexology doesn’t override the body — it helps restore the conditions where the body can heal itself. While results can be different for everyone, many people notice:
Better Sleep
As your nervous system shifts out of alert mode, your body finds it easier to settle into deeper, more restorative rest.
A Quieter Mind
Gentle reflex stimulation sends calming signals through the nervous system, helping mental noise soften and thoughts slow down.
Less Tension
As stress signals reduce, muscles and connective tissues are encouraged to release held tightness and guarding.
Improved Mood
Reflexology supports the release of endorphins and calming neurotransmitters that naturally lift emotional balance.

Drink Water
Hydration helps your body process and rebalance naturally.
Move Gently
A short walk, slow stretching, or simply taking your time helps maintain the calm.
Rest If You Can
Give yourself permission to take it easy — reflexology is deeply relaxing, and your body may want quiet or stillness.
Emotional Release Is Normal
Some people feel lighter, sleepy, energised, or a little emotional afterwards.
You may feel “out of sorts” for a short time — this is a natural part of the body letting go of tension and rebalancing.
Listen to Your Body
Your body will guide you. If you feel tired, rest. If you feel energised, enjoy it. There’s no right or wrong response.
